Call for Funding Proposals:
Accelerating Impact and Implementation of Climate Solutions Towards 2030

Denmark’s Green Tripartite Agreement underscores the urgency of action and the need
for solutions that can drive the transition toward a greener and more resilient future. The theme of
this call aligns with the agreement by emphasizing the need for accelerating the development of
solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the agri-food sector in Denmark towards
2030.

As 2030 approaches it becomes imperative to expedite efforts in GHG mitigation within the
food industry and agricultural sector. There are similar challenging deadlines when it comes to
other issues such as reducing nutrient loadings to the aquatic environment, enhancing biodiversity
protection, and phasing out chemical pesticide use.

The primary focus will be on identifying and supporting projects capable of swiftly and substantially
reducing GHG emission by 2030 while simultaneously meeting the above challenges. On the way
towards implementation and impact, uncertainties related to stakeholder readiness can occur. To
ensure fast implementation, several issues should be addressed, for example:

  • Integration of value chain perspectives and actors.
  • Environmental and food safety issues.
  • Customer, user, and consumer understanding of and readiness to adopt new
    products/processes.
  • Incentive structures for retailers to offer and consumers to choose less climate-intensive
    food.
  • Regulatory challenges and changes in legislation.

This call will invest in activities and technologies which overcomes barriers for implementation of

new technologies and measures that overcome such barriers. This could address uncertainties
related to stakeholders and their readiness to adopt new technologies.
